THE BEGINNING
Welcome! So you want to know how it all began. Well I must warn you, Gothic Fire's tale was not a very pleasant one. Still interested?
Her story begins not that long ago. A story of a young, beautiful woman, who's misfortune became her legacy. A young woman named Crystal Rose. Crystal's life was as ordinary as any other. A caring mother and father, a loving boyfriend and countless friends to support her.
It wasn't till a tragic death of her beloved boyfriend that things started to go downhill for Crystal.
"Miss Rose, in viewing of the evidence and testimonies here before me today and the jury's decision, I here by sentence you to death by injection for the murder of Mr. Rose in the first degree, to be carried out...immediately."
The slam of the gavial brought chills to my mind. I was innocent! The system had failed me and I was going to die for it. The rage grew inside me. My husbands family glared at me in such intense that it felt like thousands of tiny burning needles barring down on me. My family and friends tried their best to prove my innocence but failed and now I could hear their crying and sobbing.
I was innocent! It was self-defense, he would have killed me! Couldn't they see that! But no, with the testimonies his family and friends gave the court, they made him sound like such a nice, innocent, law-biding guy. What a crock! They didn't see him 24 - 7. They didn't live with him. How would they know!
Crystal ended up married to the wrong man. The usual start out nice and tragically turned into a horrible nightmare that no woman would wish on any enemy. His drinking and drug abuse was getting worse everyday and the beatings would be brutal. Crystal would spend most of her time avoiding evenings such as that but this night, ohhhh this night was just too much for anyone to handle.
"Crys! Crystal!! You stupid worthless bitch! How many times have I told you...."
That's usually how things would start and Crystal knew there was no avoiding that. He was drunk and high from all the pills and pot from earlier. Crystal never knew most of the time why or what sets him off like that but on that night it became extremely violent, more so then usual.
After being slammed around in the kitchen, the pain became more and more prominent. He came at her again and again, enraged like a wild rabid animal. She reached behind her, grabbed the first thing she felt and as he came in full gallop she put her hands up to cover her face.
The next thing she heard was dead silence as she waited with eyes closed for the pain to come. Something was wrong. Why is he not yelling? Time seemed to slow down.
Shaking with fear, she turned slowly to look at him. His eyes wide and bewildered. His mouth slightly open. Whatever was in her hand was gone. Then he fell, almost in slow motion, in a slump on the floor. The pain felt as though it just disappeared and a new nightmare began.
Crystal looked down at her husband. In his chest was the object she had in her hand...a large kitchen knife. Blood started to spread and a new fear started engulfing Crystal. Fear and almost a sense of relief and freedom.
Self-defense, an unfortunate mishap, it was self-defense. This thought raced throughout her mind but she wasn't as free as she thought she would be.
The police and ambulance was there in a matter of minutes. The usual questioning was conducted as the EMT's did their duty, only to proclaim her husband to be dead at the scene. Autopsy reported that the knife penetrated his heart, severing a vital area and killed him instantly.
An investigation soon followed, as to be expected and before Crystal knew it, she was being handcuffed and brought to jail. Charged with the murder of her husband.
"I vow I will avenge my unjustified death! I was innocent!" yelled Crystal as they strapped her down and prepared for the lethal injection that will end her life forever.
"Don't be silly, lady. There is no coming back from this." said the officer with a rather cynical smirk on his face.
Rage and betrayal, such anger grew inside Crystal. Looking through the glass window in front of her, where all the people that sent her here, starring back at her, looking pleased, happy that she is going to die.
Justice for them was all they were thinking. Also were the sad faces of her family and friends. They tried, oh how they tried. Crystal never flinch when the needle penetrated her skin.
Of all the pain her husband put her through, this was nothing more then a bug bite to her.
"I'll find a way! I swear on my death, no one will ever go through this as I have! I will have my justice!" shouted Crystal as the lethal concoction started to race through her, as her eyes slowly started to close and soon her last breath became silent.
Ahhhhh...but fear not lovies. This is just the beginning.
