GOTHIC FIRE || There are worse things out there then darkness.

TWEEN REALM

Soul Hunter lowered his arm and stepped back towards the street to where Gothic Fire had once stood. Slowly, one by one, the street lights flickered back on, until the street looked as if nothing had just happened there. The demons had all retreated back into the darkness and vanished. They sure as hell weren’t sticking around while Soul Hunter was there. Soul Hunter’s black eyes stared down towards the ground through his mask and noticed something. He knelt down. Something liquid, there on the ground, right where Gothic Fire had stood. He placed his finger into it, then raised his hand into the light.

"Hmmmm….You got your hands full with this one, dark lord." said Soul Hunter as he grinned. He rolled his thumb over the liquid, it was….

"BLOOD!!" yelled Sparx as if she had never seen blood before.

"You’re bleeding!" she said pointing to my arm. I looked down to where she was pointing. Sure enough, just a little below my shoulder was a good two inch gash and a good amount of blood streaming from it.

"Ummm do I really need to remind you that we were just surrounded by a shitload of demons." I said sarcastically as usual.

"No, you don’t understand, you’re bleeding! You shouldn’t be bleeding!" Sparx snapped and grew to almost my size.

"Yeaaaahhhh ok? Wanna run that by me one more time, genius." I sneered.

"You’re what the living would call…an apparition, a paranormal entity," Sparx started, " A GHOST! And ghosts…don’t bleed."

"Ok then, so why am I bleeding?" I said a bit confused.

"I don’t know. I just don’t know. I’ve never seen this before." Sparx said looking very puzzled. I looked around while Sparx was having her hissy fit. Where ever we were, I swear, we weren’t on earth anymore. Things was seriously unusual. The sky was a pinkish purple color, grass looked almost a sea blue and the plants were dark purples and greens. We were at what looked like the very edge of a forest, thick and full of color. Sparx went over to one of the purple colored plants and snapped a big leaf off then squeezed out pee green colored goo from it. She walked over to me and placed the goo onto the gash in my arm.

"Ummmm yea…where the hell are we?" I asked her.

"Oh I’m fine. Thank you for asking." She sarcastically replied as she dressed my arm, "You’re in the Tween Realm. It’s the realm that borders the living and the borders of the dead. This is where I am from."

"Ah" I said still a bit confused but then I remembered the woman.

"Did you see her!" I said jumping up, "The woman. Did you see her?"

"Hmmm…let see. I was inside a demon, nasty by the way, then held open a portal for your ass to take your time jumping through all while keeping the demons at bay long enough for me to pass through…..ummm nope no woman." replied Sparx in her usual manner.

"Damn" I started, " I wonder who she was."

"Where did you see her?" asked Sparx

"Just before I ‘took my time’ jumping through the portal" I sneered back, "She was stand just outside your light. I couldn’t see much. Just a silhouette and a few details."

"Really? What could you see of her?" asked Sparx getting more and more curious.

"Not much really. Just that the figure looked female. Semi-long hair and horns." I started, trying to recall all the details, "I saw a piece of red hair so I’m guessing her hair was red and what looked like really long friggin’ fingers."

"Trap." said Sparx, "We don’t know much about her. She’s relatively new, like you but she’s been here longer then you have. If I had to guess, I would say it was Trap."

"Come on, I know someone who can help." said Sparx as she shrunk back down and started towards the forest edge.

"Who? And where are we going? And who the fuck is Trap?" I said even more confused then before.

"Elder Merci, she’s knows everything. She’s the oldest and wisest of all the guardians. She may even shed some light to your little bleeding problem as well." stated Sparx as she flew into the woods. I didn’t have much of a choice. I mean really, where the hell was I gonna venture off to in the Tween Realm. So I ended up following Sparx to find this Elder Merci to hopefully get some answers. Especially who that woman was.
